Gary John Close

Gary passed away at the University of Michigan Hospital on Monday, July 25, 2011, at the age of 57. He was born in Wyandotte, the son John and Joyce (Hardin) Close, on January 27, 1954. He resided in the Plymouth area his entire life and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1972. During his high school years, he thrived in sports, having been on the football, basketball, baseball and track teams. Gary loved music, especially that of the 1950's and 1960's. Another favorite passtime was vacationing with his mother. Gary worked for the Kroger Company.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce, and siblings, Sandra Close, Thomas (Susan) Close and Laura (Steve) Tihanyi. Seven nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, from 3pm until the time of a Memorial Service at 4pm, with Pastor Drex Morton officiating.
