Fred Hanna

February 6, 1947 — August 7, 2019

Fred Hanna, age 72 of Canton, passed away on August 7, 2019. Beloved husband of 48 years to Donna. Loving father of Scott Hanna and Jamie (Jen) Hanna. Dear brother of Karen (Jim) Benigni, Missy Mullen (and longtime friend, Tom Mullen), Mark (Diane) Hanna and, Beth (Michael) Harris. Also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews along with his two faithful companions, Buddy & Tazi.

Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. Fred enjoyed the great outdoors of Northern Michigan and especially loved spending time at the family cottage on Silver Lake in Wolverine. When it came to Michigan sports, Fred was an avid fan. He was an extreme die hard Lions fan, proud Red Wings fan, and a supporter of the Tigers and Pistons. Dear to his heart were the Wolverines, a true Michigan fan, and even ever so slightly a Spartan fan. Every chance he got, Fred would travel to Atlanta, Georgia to spend time with his children. Since his teenage years, Fred had a passion for classic cars and hot rods. Fred left his handprint on this world and, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
