Frances Caruso was born January 17, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away at age 97 on February 1, 2022. She is the beloved mother of Sam (Cathie) Caruso, Rosemary (Mark) Grabavoy, and Debbie Caruso. Frances had many devoted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Rose Amato, her siblings Don Amato, Frank Amato and Catherine (Amato) Sacco, and her loving and devoted husband, Enrico Caruso with whom she spent 40 wonderful years before his passing at age 65. Frances and Rick loved to spend their vacations in Hawaii and the casinos in Las Vegas. They were on bowling leagues together and had many friends.
She worked as a Stenographer for the War Department in 1945 and later worked and retired from her position as a Secretary at Ford Motor Company. She loved to read Victorian novels and celebrity magazines and spend time at the Detroit casinos with her nieces. She always looked well-dressed and loved to be “Fancy”.
“Fancy” Fran will be dearly missed by her family and, they will cherish forever all of their special memories of her.
