Florence passed away at Garden City Hospital on January 28, 2011 at the age of 64. She was born on June 12, 1946 in Duluth, Minnesota the daughter of Norman and Helen E. (Tippett) Pooley. Florence received her B.A. in Education from the University of Michigan in 1968 and taught 1st grade in the Dearborn Public Schools. She married her husband Wayne in 1972 and together they enjoyed having two daughters. Wayne passed away in 2004. Florence was active in her church, the Newburg United Methodist Church of Livonia and she volunteered at the Joy - Southfield Health Clinic. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed bowling, coloring, puzzles, reading and trivia, always wishing to appear on " Jeopardy ". She was also an avid collector of anything that was new and fun.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle and Denise and a sister Darlene (Philip) Kuusisto. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Sunday, January 30, 2011, from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 9pm. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10am until time of her funeral service at 11 am from Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia, with the Reverend Marsha Woolley officating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the church.
