Everett James Steiner

August 23, 1918 — May 15, 2013

Passed away at St. Mary Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the age of 94. Everett was born in Detroit, the son of James and Martha ( Lojowski ) Steiner. He received his education both at Chancy High School in Detroit and with the Ford Motor Company. From 1942 until 1945 he served with the United States Army as a Corporal with the 442nd Bombardment Squadron in the European Theater of Operations. In April of 1942 he married Mary ( nee Dornoff ) and together they shared a 71 year marriage. For years, Everett worked for Zimmer Manufacturing, a producers of various types of fasteners. Everett enjoyed working with his hands, especially making things with wood, toys being a specialty. He is survived by his wife and children James Steiner and Tom ( Laura ) Steiner. Also surviving are grandchildren Robert Steiner, Lowell ( Rebecca Swindler ) Steiner and Michelle ( Anthony Roure ) Steiner and great granddaughter Bronwyn. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday from 2 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10 am until time of funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 Haggerty Road ( south of Five Mile ) Plymouth. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
