Esther Margaret Scheppele

Esther M. Scheppele age 89, of Canton, passed away December 8, 2016. Loving mother of Margaret (Kim) Dutcher, Eileen (Keith) Evans, Carol (Max) Schneidereit, Robert (Marge) Scheppele, John Scheppele, Diana Scheppele, Valerie Raspbury (Tony Lonigro), Kenneth (Anne) Scheppele, Michael (Barbara) Scheppele, and Stephen (Elaine) Scheppele. Dear grandmother to 18, several great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and her brother Marvin Mettetal. Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert Scheppele. Also preceding Esther were her parents Raphael and Stella, and 8 of her siblings Raphael, Mary, Robert, Edith, Virginia, Eli, Nelda, and Lewis.

Esther loved to play Bridge and was in fact a Gold Life Master player. She also enjoyed playing the piano and organ and singing in the Church Choir. Esther was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth for over 70 years. She worked for over 20 years at the Hawthorn Center as an accountant. Above all, Esther loved her high school sweetheart and husband of 63 years, the late Robert Scheppele.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, from 1-6pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main, Plymouth, 48170. Her Funeral Service will be Monday at 12 noon at the funeral home. Family and friends may begin visiting at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Michigan Humane Society, or Plymouth Community Band.
