Emmitt Spradlin, Jr. of Plymouth, passed away September 10, 2016 at the age of 72. He was born in Franklin Furnace, Ohio to Emmitt and Rose (nee Blanton) Spradlin on June 14, 1944. Emmitt is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Karon (nee Salyers), his loving children Timothy Spradlin, and Robert (Jodie) Spradlin, his precious grandchildren Olivia, Lucy, Sarah, Christian (Rachel), Jackson, and Evan, and his dear siblings Susie (the late Wayne) Raike, and Kathleen Spradlin. Emmitt was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother Dick Spradlin.
Emmitt was a big time sports fan. He loved the Tigers, the Lions and U of M. Emmitt and Karon owned their own swimming pool business for 25 years. Then they moved to Florida for 10 years. Emmitt always cherished his time with Karon. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Emmitt proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Visitation for Emmitt will be Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 11-1pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. His Funeral Service will begin immediately following the visitation at 1pm at the funeral home. Emmitt will be interred with military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, on Friday, September 16, 2016, at 10am. Memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, or Arbor Hospice. There will be envelopes provided at the funeral home.
