Elinor Louise (nee Black) Chelian of Plymouth, Michigan passed away May 16, 2019. She was 88 years old. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 26, 1931 to parents John and Grace Black. Elinor was the beloved wife of Sam Chelian. Elinor is also survived by her loving children Ken (Faith) Akert, Pamela Talbott, and Gail (John) Zielinski. Cherished grandmother to Camille (Chris), Jacob, Grace (Ron), Jordan, John, Natalie, and great-grandmother to Elianna, Lachlan, and Addison. Dearest sister of Marion Restum.
Elinor will be remembered as a selfless, compassionate and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always had a smile, even when times were tough. As a homemaker, a wife and a mother, she was strong, capable and tireless, always striving to make everything better. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, decorating for the holidays, and spending time with family. She will be greatly loved and missed by her family and friends.
At this time, arrangements have been entrusted to Schrader-Howell Funeral Home. A celebration of Elinor’s life will be determined at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Elinor’s name to Shriners Hospital for Children or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
