Elaine Lorraine Scott passed away on November 24, 2023. She was born on March 26, 1932 in Garden City, Michigan to her parents Henry and Pearl Tatro.

Elaine is survived by her sons Michael (Patricia Huhtelin) Phillips and William (Deborah)Phillips, her 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. 

Elaine is preceded in death by her son Jeffery Phillips, her beloved husband of 25 years, George Ernest Scott (Ernie) and siblings Opal Malek, William Tatro, and Donna Stevenson.

Elaine enjoyed spending her time traveling to auctions and going to antique stores with her husband Ernie. They would explore treasures from the past together, appreciating the unique beauty of each item they discovered. Elaine also loved visiting the Salvation Army, becoming a regular weekly shopper and making friends during her visits.  Her keen eye for hidden gems made every shopping excursion an adventure.  Jensen Beach in Florida also held a special place in her heart, as she relished spending winters there enjoying the sunshine, golfing with friends and shopping at the numerous secondhand stores in the area.  Also a wonderful cook, Elaine was known for her amazing meals from scratch that she loved sharing with her family and friends. During her lifetime, Elaine was a dedicated nurse who worked at St. Mary Hospital in Livonia, providing compassionate care to countless patients.

Known for her kind spirit, charitable nature and strong independence, Elaine will be missed dearly by all.

May she find eternal peace and may her memory continue to inspire kindness and love in all of our lives.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elaine can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
