Elaine Frances Pischke of Honor, Michigan, who made her home on Platte Lake, died February 28, 2018. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Grosse Pointe Farms by her parents, Hillard and Bessie Weigle. Elaine is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Alfred Pischke; her loving children, Susan (Steven) Powondra, Linda (Rick) McBurney, Wendy (Robert) Stroup-Stackpoole, Susan (David) Bauer, Robert Pischke and Jude Pischke; 9 precious grandchildren and 10 cherished great grandchildren. Elaine is preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Stroup in 1974, and both of her parents.
Elaine was a gifted artist and a fiery debater. She enjoyed reading, dancing, and traveling with her husband. Elaine's most memorable trip by far was their land, sea, and train trip to Alaska. Elaine was a loving wife and mother who always instilled confidence in her children. She encouraged them to take on life’s challenges with no fear of failure. Elaine was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, from 12-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, with a Rosary Service at 7pm. Her Funeral Service will be Friday, March 9, at 11am at the Funeral Home. Family and friends may begin visiting the Funeral Home at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
