Edward Veresh of Northville, passed away August 1, 2016, at the age of 86. He was born in Detroit, on November 25, 1929, to John and Helen (nee Repka) Veresh. Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Irene (nee Matthews), his three loving children David (Janice) Veresh, Kathy Veresh, and Karen Veresh, his dear grandchildren Brad Toombs, Tim Veresh, Bethany (Dave) Harris, and Benjamin Veresh, his 6 precious great grandchildren, and his two siblings Frank Veresh, and Ethel Wilson. Edward was preceded in death by both of his parents John and Helen Veresh, and seven of his siblings John, Joe, Steve, Helen, Al, Johnny, and George.
Ed worked for General Motors for 30 years. When he wasn’t working, he loved to hunt, fish, scuba dive and paint. He was a builder as well. He built a television, and a telescope. He could fix just about anything. He even did the wiring and plumbing for both his home and cabin.
Ed spent a lot of his time volunteering for Praise Baptist Church. He had been a member there for 74 years back when it was called First Baptist. He was a Deacon there, he taught Sunday school, and made the stained glass lamps in the Church. He sang in the choir as well for over 30 years.
Visitation for Edward will be Friday, August 5, 2016 from 5-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main, Plymouth, 48170. His Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 11am at Praise Baptist Church, 45000 N. Territorial, Plymouth, 48170. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Opportunity Center, or Praise Baptist Church.
