Dr. Neblett passed away at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at the age of 83. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky the son of Thomas W. and Deborah J. ( Eades ) Neblett. He received his B.S. degree from Michigan State University, his Masters of Science from Wayne State University, and his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. In 1986, he retired as the Director of the Department of Microbiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Neblett was a Wayne State University professor, author and lecturer. His memberships included Sons of the American Revolution, Sigma Pi, Phi Kappa Tau, past President of the Michigan branch of the Society of Microbiologists, the Oakland Hunt Club, the Classic American Boat Society, life member of the Detroit Yacht Club and the Dearborn Power squadron and Charter Member of the Henry Ford Hospital Medical Association. On February 27, 1960, he married Nancy Glunz, and together they shared 51 years of married life. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday from 3pm until 8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 11am with Father Russell Kohler from Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Detroit officiating.
