Dr. Daniel Joseph Chatterley, 85, of Plymouth, MI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at his home. Dan was born in Providence, Rhode Island but lived in the Plymouth area for nearly 60 years. He attended school in Providence, graduated from the University of Rhode Island and received his medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He had his own family medical practice in Garden City, MI for 40 years until 1999, serving multiple generations of area families. Dan was a clarinet and saxophone player in the big band era, earning money to pay for medical school. He was also an accomplished artist. His sense of humor, storytelling abilities and constant whistling will be truly missed. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and was very proud of his four sons, one daughter and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Doris Chatterley. He is survived by his children, Mark Chatterley and wife Sue, Lauren Chatterley McMillan and husband Michael, Scott Chatterley, Bruce Chatterley and wife Nancy, Brian Chatterley and ten loving grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Plymouth Arts Council, 774 N. Sheldon Rd., Plymouth on Saturday, September 19 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
