Dorothy Siwarski

Dorothy Siwarski, age 88 of Northville, passed away on November 9, 2012. Born in Oldham Lanchashire, England to parents Edward & Alice Richardson on October 2, 1924. During World War II she would fall in love with an American GI known as Joe Siwarski "Aka GI Joe". They were married on March 7, 1946 in England and Dorothy than moved to the United States to start her new life with her beloved GI Joe on June 6, 1946. Dorothy would sail over on the Troop Ship, Williard A. Holbrook and would pass through New York City. Together they were blessed with two children; Rosemary (Bill) Harrigan and John (Mary Lou) Siwarski. Proud grandmother of Todd and Kimberly Harrigan and the late Andy Siwarski. Great grandmother of Tyler, Hanna and Jack. Also survived by sister Alice Turner who still resides in England. A funeral servcie will be held at the First Presbyterian Church 701 Church St, Plymouth on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00am with visiation beginning at 10:00am until time of service. Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home 280 South Main St, Plymouth on Monday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm. Memorials may be made to Angela Hospice.
