Dorothy Mae Lampton passed away at Crystal Creek Assisted Living Home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the age of 90. Dorothy was born in Tupelo, Arkansas the daughter of Ulysses Sherman and Mary Emma ( nee Cary ) Brown. She attended Tupelo schools and when World War II broke out she journeyed to Michigan to work in the war production factories. In 1944 she married Henry Levi Lampton and after his return from military service the family moved to Wyoming while Henry worked for the railroad. In the fall of 1951 the family moved to the Plymouth area where they have resided ever since. Dorothy worked for various automotive parts companies, the last being Sun Plastics from where she retired at the age of 71. She enjoyed various crafts including sewing, ceramics, gardening, shopping and enjoying a good cup of McDonalds coffee. Dorothy enjoyed conversing with family and friends and they in turn treasured these times spent together. For 64 years she has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church which brought her much joy and happiness. In 1998 Dorothy lost her husband Henry after 54 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters Jerry C. Hargrave and Angela G. D. Brey; beloved dear friend Donald Dew; grandchildren Jason A. Price, Stephen R. Brey and Nicole E. Brey; great grandson Calvin Joseph Price and siblings Geneva Smith, Ruth Anselmi, Charles and Bill Brown. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 am officiated by Pastor John Shinn of Calvary Baptist Church. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband in Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth.
