Dorothy June Lybarger July 3, 1928 - July 13, 2015 Dorothy June Lybarger went home to her Savior on July 13, 2015 at the age of 87. Dorothy was born on July 3, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of Daniel J. and Elva G. ( nee Budde ) Watson. She was raised in Detroit and graduated from Mackenzie High School. After graduation, she took classes for secretarial work and then went to work for DeSoto Motors. Later, she worked for the Ditzler Corporation. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Robert Lee Lybarger. Together they shared a marriage that lasted 42 years until Robert's death in 1995. They were blessed with five children. While raising the children, Dorothy also worked for the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, Kelly Services and Sisters of Mercy Health Corporation, retiring in 1993 from her role as an administrative assistant. Dorothy enjoyed many interests including gardening, cooking, playing cards (especially Pinochle), and spending time with family and friends at their cottage on Portage Lake. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Plymouth. She immersed herself in what mattered most to her : family and friends. She was an avid fan of all the sporting events, band concerts and other activities of her children and grandchildren and rarely missed an event. Dorothy was a giver of time, of service, of food and of acceptance. She loved fiercely and will be missed by her family and the many others she adopted as family. Left to continue her legacy are her children, Carol Lee ( Shawn Hughes ) Lybarger, Deborah Joyce ( John ) Kaye, Daniel James ( Judy ) Lybarger, Linda Gail ( Scott ) Slimak and Kimberly Ann ( Paul ) McVety. Dorothy also leaves her grandchildren, Candi ( Chris ), Sara, Robert, Jocelyn ( Zachary ), Michael ( Maureen ), Ashley June, Jason ( Sarah ), Arthur, Michaela, Michella, Jacob, Samantha, Liam, Jude, Joshua and Asher as well as four great grandchildren, Cody, Samuel, Audrey and Claire. Also surviving are her cherished cousins whom she considered sisters, Marlene Raden and Judy Lutz, along with many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Robert, and her siblings Donald and Joyce. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20th, 2015 from 2 pm until 9 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, July 21st from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am at the First United Methodist Church of Plymouth, 45201 North Territorial, Plymouth. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Bloomdale Cemetery in Trenton.
