Dorothy F. Young

Dorothy F. Young passed away at Glacier Hills Nursing Home on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the age of 94. Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Leonard J. and Amelia ( Maignai ) Forcillo. She met her husband Thomas at a USO party on Long Island and they were married in 1945. The couple resided in Livonia for over thirty years. Amoung Dorthy's many interests was writing. She wrote monthly Personality Profiles for the senior citizens group in Livonia. She also enjoyed cooking and painting in both watercolors and oils. She was a member of Newburg United Methodist Church of Livonia. She is survived by her daughter Judy ( James ) Mayo, grandchildren Amy ( Michael ) Mayo-Moyle and Michael ( Jamie ) Mayo. Four great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at her church which is located 36500 Ann Arbor Trail on Thursday at 11 am with visitation beginning at 10 am.
