Doris Marie Widmaier

Doris Marie Widmaier, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away on November 11, 2023. She was born on June 10, 1933, in Stone Church Village, Pennsylvania to her parents Paul and Margaret Fisher. 

Doris deeply cherished her family and friends. She was happily married to her late husband Richard for an incredible 65 years. Their love and bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

Doris loved and cared for her five children: Debra (Ted), Charles (Penny), Margaret (Kevin), Paulette (Mark), and Cathy (Jim).  She will be especially missed by her niece Doris Anne.

Doris was a loving grandmother. She is survived by her grandchildren: Karrie, Jim (Shannon), Mike, Lauren (David), Lynn (Mike), Charlie, Madeline, Claire, and Kylie. Her great-grandchildren: Kyle (Ashley), Justine (Cameron), Remington, Sophia, Jake, Kaleb, Quinn, Emily, Skye, and the late Kelly.  Doris was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren: Chloe, Ava, Harper, Jaxon, Arianna, and Amaya. Each one brought immeasurable joy and laughter into her life.

Doris graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952. She worked for Kresge at Westland Mall and later for the Plymouth K-Mart. She enjoyed her work and made many good friends while there.  She was highly respected by both her coworkers and customers.

Doris was an avid walker and enjoyed walking many miles along Hines Drive between her home and Plymouth.  She had a heart of gold and devoted much time to helping family and friends.

Doris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished, and her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A visitation will be held on November 15, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home located at 280 S. Main St, Plymouth, MI, 48170.   

The funeral service will take place on November 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home located at 280 S. Main St, Plymouth, MI, 48170.

Immediately following the service Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakland Hills Memorial Park in Novi, MI.
