Donald H. Scott

Donald (Don) Harris Scott, age 83 of Canton, Michigan passed away on May 16, 2024.

Don was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 16, 1940 to the late Evelyn (née Wright) and William Scott.  He graduated from Dearborn High School in 1958 before getting his Engineering degree.   He joined Ford Motor Company on July 27, 1962.   After a very successful 35-year career with Ford Motor Company, he retired on January 1, 1997.

Besides his love for his wife, Don loved to build engines.  He enjoyed racing his two flat bottom race boats, flying his Cessna 182 and taking his 2003 Jaguar XK8 for a drive.  When he wasn’t moving over the water, taking off in his plane or enjoying a nice ride in his Jaguar, he would play golf whenever possible.  He also was also a great supporter of the Detroit Lions and a 46-year season ticket holder. 

Don is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Patricia (née Simmons).  He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his sister, Susan (Casey) Scott, sister-in-law, Lyn Scott; brother-in-law John (Nancy) Ellison and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Rockview Cemetery in Rockview, Michigan.
