Donald E. Nelson, age 89, passed away on February 24, 2016. Donald was born in Detroit, Michigan to Emil and Gladys (nee McGonigal) Nelson on October 2, 1926. He was the devoted husband to the late Violet M. Nelson who passed away in August 2009. They were married for 49 years.
Donald is survived by his son, Dr. John (Tracy) Nelson and his daughter-in-law, Christy Nelson. He was the proud Grandfather of Zachary, Joseph, Troy, Makaiah and Cianna. He was pre-deceased by his son, Donald Nelson, his sister, Joy Christiansen and his brother, Glen Nelson.
Friends may visit on Monday, February 29th, from 6pm to 8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1st at 11am and will be officiated by Pastor Michael Stambaugh.
Donald will be buried at Cadillac Memorial Gardens in Westland, Michigan next to his beloved wife, Violet.
