Dolores Block

Dolores Block passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the age of 95. Dolores was born in Detroit, the daughter of Garfield and Martha ( nee Gorbin ) Nye. Since 1986 she has resided in the Plymouth area. Dolores loved to cook and bake and enjoyed reading, mystery books were her favorite. She was also quite a " crafty " person and loved watching the birds in her back yard. Her husband Harold preceded her in death in 1998, they had been married over 60 years. She is survived by her sons, Gary Block and dear friend Dianna Rorabacher, Mel ( Susan ) Block and daughter-in-law Mary Louise Block. Dolores also leaves behind her grandchildren, Ann Block, Laura ( Thomas ) Smith, Janice ( John ) Navrital, Kristopher ( Priscila ) Black and Robin Brooks. Seven great grandchildren, Lauren, Jenna, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua, Carmen and Tristan and sister Virginia Nye also survive. She was preceded in death by her son Larry. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Tuesday, from 3 pm until 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at 11 am with the Reverend Drex Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia.
