Delbert Slater, age 89 of Canton passed away on December 23, 2018.
Delbert was born on January 26, 1929 in Plymouth to his parents, Elmer and Almeta (nee Hall) Slater. He is the beloved husband of the late Deloris Jane (nee Revels) Slater who passed away on September 12, 2005; devoted father of Ken (Linda) Slater; proud grandfather of Becky (Doug) Drazin and Scott (Megan) Slater and great-grandfather of Teddy and Toby. Delbert also leaves behind his dog and faithful companion, “Penny”.
Delbert was a plumber by trade, but he was especially proud to BE a plumber. All plumbers have their own special set of skills. He had a lot of pride in his workmanship and always did his best to represent his skill. For Delbert, it was not just a job, or just a paycheck – it was a part of his life.
He also loved going to downtown Detroit and visiting the casinos for fun.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, December 28th from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 29th at the Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 A.M.
