Reeves, David Lynn Passed away at his home on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the age of 65. David was born in Tiptonville, Tennessee the son of Charles E. and Jessie M. ( nee Glidewell ) on August 13, 1951.
In 1954, the family moved to the Plymouth area where they have resided ever since. David graduated from Plymouth High School in 1970 and married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl. In 1971 he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam. During his high school years David had worked for Ford Motor and upon returning from his Army service went back working at the Sheldon Road Plant as a line assembler retiring after 30 plus years of service as a parts inspector.
David had many interests including taxidermy. For at least 30 years, he practiced this trade at his home. David had many customers for this specialty. He was also a keen fisherman and enjoyed hunting and classic cars, owning a 1967 Chevy Super Sport.
David was quite active in veterans affairs being a member of the VFW Lodge 6695. He served as Post Commander from 2010 – 2011 and was also District 4 Senior Vice Commander in 2010 – 2011 and 2013 – 2014. He was also a member of American Legion Post 32.
David is survived by his daughter Dawn ( Larry ) Minehart and son Brian Reeves. He also leaves four beloved grandchildren, Olivia and Ben Minehart and Mickenzie and Andrew Reeves. David’s parents Charles E. and Jessie M. Reeves and brother Charles M. ( Susan ) Reeves also survive.
Visitation will be held at the Schrader–Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Thursday from 1 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm with the Reverend Steve McCoy officiating. Military Honors will also be rendered.
