Daniel Michael O'Mara

Daniel Michael O’Mara passed away on April 5th, 2018 at the age of 64. Dan was born in Deckerville, MI September 8th, 1953 to Joseph and Patricia O’Mara, both preceded him in death. Dan is survived by his beloved wife Diane (Byrd) O’Mara, his loving children, son Troy and daughter Shayla, step-son Ferris Haddad (Laura), grandson Landon Haddad and step-son David. Dan was the oldest of 12 and is survived by his 11 siblings; Grace, Eddie (Lanette), Joey (Sarah), Tommy, Matt (Ann), Kelly (Dennis) Larochelle, Marty, Shawn (Chris), Michelle (Scott) Nelson, Katie (Terry) Camp, and Anna.

Dan was an award-winning Cadillac salesman for more than 40 years. He was an avid Red Wings and Tigers fan, with hockey as his true passion. He played throughout his youth in Detroit and Canada, and even coached a women’s hockey team for several years. They won a state Championship and traveled to Finland and Sweden as well. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and loved spending time on the water in Port Sanilac, MI on Lake Huron and in Long Boat Key, Florida. Dan had an unwavering dedication to his family. His strength and devotion were felt by many.

Visitation will be Sunday April 8th, 2018 from 1-6 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, with a Rosary service at 4:30pm. His Funeral service will be Monday April 9th at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish 22430 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI 48124
