Daniel James White passed away February 6, 2015 at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sonia Joan. He is the dear father of Daniel W. (Hazel Reynolds) White and Christina A. (Andrew) Czaja and dearest grandfather of Tyler James Valdez. He is the brother of the late Peggy Caruana and the late William White and brother–in-law of Art Caruana and Helen White. Dan was a resident of Plymouth for over 40 years. He worked for Junior Achievement for 30 years. He then went on to work in security for the Livonia Public Schools for 13 years. While at the Livonia Schools he continued to be a support person for Junior Achievement. Dan was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and a Life Member of Fr. Solanus Guild. He was a very dedicated member of Plymouth Rotary Club where he was a past board member and was at one time named Rotarian of the Year. He was formerly a member of the Economic Club of Detroit, The Fairlane Club, the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce and was also active with the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce. Dan received many awards over the years including a Service Award from Junior Achievement for his service in Detroit and Southeastern Michigan. He also received an Appreciation Award from The Fairlane Club Board of Governors, a Dedicated Service Award from the Livonia Schools and an Appreciation Award from the Schoolcraft Foundation Benefactors Circle. He also gave to his country having served in the National Guard. Dan loved to travel having belonged to the Nomads at one time. He also loved going up north, especially to spend time with family. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family. Dan was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by many. Friends may visit Tuesday 4-8pm and Wednesday 2-8pm at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth and Thursday 10am until time of mass 10:30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 N. Territorial Rd., Plymouth. There will be a rosary Wednesday 7pm at the funeral home. Dan will be entombed at Riverside Cemetery next to his beloved wife. Memorials may be made to the Plymouth Rotary Foundation, Angela Hospice or Masses.
