Dale A. Collins passed away September 24, 2015 at the age of 92. He was born October 18, 1922, in Detroit to Arthur E. and Alpha Irene (Lankin) Collins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Billie Joyce Collins. He is the dear father of Jerrie Lynn (Tom) Sigworth, Randy Collins, Roger (Mickey) Collins and the late Judith Walkowiak. Dear grandfather of Chris (Erica) Walkowiak, Carol (Bruce) Henry, Jessica Sigworth, Andy Sigworth, Kelly Collins, Leigh Collins and the late Jason Sigworth. Great grandfather of Neva Walkowiak, Chase Walkowiak, Charlotte Henry and Ella Henry and great great grandfather of Zayden Fortner. Brother of the late Jack Collins and half brother of Keith (Helen) Collins and Ken Collins. Dale graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn where he learned his love of art. He then went on to become a Graphic Artist at Detroit Edison for 45 years. He loved his job at Detroit Edison as he was doing what he loved. He started working at there when he was 16 and retired in in 1984. Dale served his country during WWII. He was with an artillery division having served in the South Pacific, including the Philippines. At one time Dale sang in a Barber Shop Quartet. He loved to paint, especially landscapes. Dale was a magnificent painter. He mostly loved spending time with his family. Dale is deeply loved and will be missed by many. A Funeral Service will take place Saturday 12 noon, October 3, 2015, at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth. Friends may visit beginning at 11am until time of service. He will be laid to rest at Knollwood Cemetery, Canton. Memorials in Dale's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
