Cynthia W. Harris

On September 27, 2022, Cynthia W. Harris (Cindy) passed away at the young age of sixty-five after a three-year battle with cancer. Cindy was born on December 6, 1956 to Melvin and Lutelle Johnson in Henderson, North Carolina. She was the youngest of six Johnson girls - Susan (passed in 2012), Janice, Pam, Debbie (passed in 2021), and Valerie. She worked as a waitress and banquet manager for Mountain Jack’s Steakhouse, a banquet manager for Hawthorne Valley and, served as a member of the Dearborn Heights Rotary Club.

Cindy was a beloved wife, mother, and sister. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, knew that her compassion and love for others were unmatched.  She was always the first to offer help and provide support for everyone around her. Though she was never one to step into the spotlight, she was a natural-born leader and teacher, and many around her are better individuals for knowing her. While the family grieves her early passing, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her spirit. 

Cindy is survived by her husband of thirty-eight wonderful years, Rodney, her son Kyle, her daughter, Jessie, two stepchildren - Melissa and Lindsay and, childhood friend of fifty-two years, Sherry. 

Friends may gather at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00 P.M.
