Claude Wesley Shisler, age 84, passed away at St. Mary Mercy Hospital of Livonia on Saturday, July 16, 2011. He was born in Detroit, the son of Lawrence and Ethelyn (Horning) Shisler. Claude served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict and then worked for Cadillac Motor Company at the Detroit Assembly plant for 34 years. He was active in his church, the Salvation Army Chapel in Plymouth, serving as a Corps Sargent Major.
He was married for over 40 years to Viola (Stoops), who preceded him in death in 2009. He is survived by his and Viola's children, Barry (Susan), Susan (Rodney), Edwin (Gloria), Caroline (Forrest), Nancy (Roger), Beverly (Roger), and Judy. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Ida Mae and Jenny. In addition to his wife, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Irene.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 7 pm at the Salvation Army Chapel, 94561 South Main Street, Plymouth. Contributions are suggested to the church.
