Christopher Dean Richards passed away suddenly in Mississippi on May 28, 2014 at the age of 50. Chris was born in Detroit, the son of Joseph D. & Hily V. ( nee Murray ) Richards on October 11, 1963. His early years were spent in Michigan, then the family moved to Tennessee were he finished his high school education at Milan High school in Milan, Tennessee. Chris returned to Michigan and worked in the mailing department for Newsprinting, a company doing small newspapers. He returned to school at the Michigan Institute of Aeronautics obtaining a perfect attendance record and a 4.0 grade point for his two years of study. He then went to work for Kalitta Charters, a charter aircraft company located at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti where he was a chief inspector for aircraft parts. Chris enjoyed sports, NASCAR, monster trucks, fishing and bowling. Other interests were model railroading and racing model monster trucks. He enjoyed playing cards or board games with his family and listening to his favorite bands, ZZ Top and Heart. In 1983 he met his wife to be, Nancy R. Miller and in 1987 they married. He is survived by his wife and their children Melissa and Joshua. A daughter Kelly preceded him in death. Also surviving is his father in Mississippi and sister Beth E. Richards. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 3 pm until 8 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 7 pm at Geneva Presbyterian Church, 5835 Sheldon Road, Canton with the Reverend Bryan D. Smith officiating.
