Cecilia Madison, 95 years of age, of Livonia, Michigan, in her sleep on July 13th, 2017. Cecilia was born August 31st, 1922 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Anthony and Alice (Bobbi) Karasek. She was the middle of five children, John, Jenny, Frank and Evelyn all who preceded her death. Cecilia was educated at Madonna College, where she received her registered Nursing degree.
Cecilia was united in marriage to Earl Madison, Oct. 8th, 1949. He preceded her death on October 28th, 2015. They were married for 66 blissful years. Her loving, caring daughter, Denise Madison, daughter, Lori McNutt and husband Randy, sons, Earl Madison Jr. and wife Noreen, George Madison and wife Lynne survives Cecilia. Three grandchildren, Amanda McNutt, Jared McNutt and Earl III Madison, and additional grandchildren Casey, Audrey and Mitchell also survive her. Three great-grandchildren are also in the family heritage from the grandchild of Casey Madison and his wife Amber, Dexter, Tyson and Kenzi. Cecilia often reminisced about her work as a tool- crib manager during World War II at the Sparks Withington Radio Company and her special care for making tools. She also would mention working in her late teens at the Rocket Restaurant in Jackson, Michigan where she got the nickname “Lightning” for her speed and accuracy waiting tables.
Cecilia will be remembered as a devout Christian. She was a lifelong member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Westland. Family and friends were Cecilia’s passion and delight. She grew up spending summer vacations in Kalkaska,Michigan and winters in Tampa, Florida. Cecilia loved to read, pray, spend time with family, laughing and wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”
Cecilia was a person who would not want folks to morn her passing, but rather to have family and friends celebrate her happy memories she brought to each and every one of you. Twojie zdrowie! Cheers! Do następnego spotkania. Until we meet again.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home 280 South Main St, Plymouth on Tuesday, July 18th from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 19th at 10:00am at St. Mary Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church, 8200 Wayne Road, Westland. Cecilia will lie in state beginning at 9:00am until time of mass.
