Catherine E. Kardel

Catherine Elizabeth Kardel of Plymouth, passed away August 4, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to her late parents Francis and Agnes (nee Gallagher) Dolan. Catherine was the beloved wife of the late William Kardel for 37 years. She is survived by her loving children Daniel (Laura) Kardel, Mary Kardel, Kenneth (Linda) Kardel, and Thomas Kardel (David Weidman), and her precious grandchildren Matthew (Rachel), Kevin (Anjali), Steven, Scott, Christine, Kenneth Jr., and Erin. Catherine was preceded in death by her siblings Thomas, Francis, Theresa, and Bernice, and is survived by her sister-in-law Charlotte Dolan.

Catherine was a graduate of Chadsey High School in Detroit. She enjoyed bowling, reading, and gardening. Catherine also helped build Holy Family Catholic Church in Novi. One of the great joys in her life was having breakfast and lunch dates with her many friends. She loved to bring her family together and host many holiday parties. Above all, Catherine loved her family and took great pride in being the best spouse and mother that she could be. She was greatly loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be Monday, August 7, from 4-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170 with a Rosary Service at 7pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:30am at St. Richard’s Catholic Church, 35637 Cherry Hill, Westland, 48186. Family and friends may begin visiting the Church at 10am.
