Cassie Stelmach

Cassie Stelmach passed away at Heartland Health Care Center in Plymouth on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the age of 95. She was born in Hamtramck on May 1, 1920, the daughter of Casimir and Konorat (nee Laskowna) Kaczor. Her life revolved around her family and husband. After her family had grown, she became a governess to several children. For the past 25 years, she has resided in the Plymouth area and was active in her church, Salem Lutheran. Her husband, William passed away in 1984. She is survived by her children, Beverly (George) Layton, Delores Steele, John and William Stelmach. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and sister, Lilly Killian. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Monday, April 4th from 12 noon until 3 pm.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am with the Reverend Brandt Engle of Salem Lutheran Church officiating. Later, she will be laid to rest beside her husband at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
