Carol Lynn Johnson, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and stepmom passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on January 31, 2025 at her residence in Genoa Township, Michigan.
She was born on October 5, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, to her parents the late Robert and Ida (Rylko) Everitt. Her journey through life was marked by dedication, kindness, and the warmth she shared with those around her.
Following high school graduation, Carol went on to have a career as a bookkeeper, skillfully managing finances at a variety of businesses including the Brake Repair business she owned with her late husband Richard. She had a strong work ethic, but it was her spirit and dedication that left a lasting impression on her family and friends. She was like a grandmother to Mia and Fiona offering love, guidance, and wisdom that enriched their lives. Her love outside of family was singing in the choir at the Hartland Senior Activity Center.
Carol is survived by her siblings Ida (Richard) Bucholtz and William (Marie) Everitt. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who she thought of as children: Richard J (Renita) Bucholtz, Jr., James Bucholtz, Melissa Carper, Matthew (BJ) Everitt, Sarah (Bill) Morgan, Teresa (Eric) Laskey, John (Meaghan) Everitt, and Robert S. Everitt.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by her siblings Stephanie Everitt and Robert J. Everitt.
Carol Lynn Johnson's life was characterized by her genuine care for others and her unwavering commitment to her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service beginning at 1:00 P.M.
