Carol Ann Waite

Carol Ann Waite, age 81 of Plymouth passed away on July 5, 2021. Carol Ann was born in Alpena, Michigan on July 23, 1939 to her parents, Charles Wesley and Mary Helen (née Dowling) Sanford. She is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Charles R. Waite who passed away on December 8, 2020; loving mother of Robert (Beverly) Waite and Mary Ann (Michael) Jenkins; proud grandmother of Amanda (Rob) Blaesser, Charles Christopher (Jamie) Waite, Kelly (Ashley) Waite, Andrew Waite, Matthew (Megan) Jenkins, Ryan Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins and Mary Jenkins and great-grandmother of Isaac Waite, Jack Jenkins, Henry Jenkins and James Jenkins.

Carol Ann was a longtime resident of Plymouth and member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. She was active in many ministries at OLGC as well as the Plymouth community. Her faith was a very important part of her life which was clear to those who knew her. Ann was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved her family deeply and was always doing whatever she could for others.

Ann knew how to make people feel special, whether it was through a hand-written note, spontaneous phone call, or homecooked meal. She especially loved to cook. Cooking was Ann’s way of bringing people together – family and strangers alike. She loved to prepare food for the most important occasions: family holidays and weekend tailgates in Ann Arbor. Ann and Charlie were well-known across University of Michigan football tailgates for their hospitality, welcoming hearts, and great food. Ann loved a good party and welcoming as many people into it as she could.

Carol Ann treasured her husband Charlie – they were married 61 beautiful years. Their years together were full of life. They travelled all over the U.S. in their R.V., spent time with their children and grandchildren, attended Wolverine football games, and cherished their time with one another.

Carol Ann will be in-state at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 A.M.
