Bruce D. Towle

Bruce D. Towle passed away September 30, 2015 at the age of 94. He was born May 21, 1921 in Dryden, Michigan to William G. and Edna (Dean) Towle. He is greatly loved by his wife Terra W. Towle, his son Gerald (Pam Longthorne) Towle and his grandchildren Gerad (Olivia) Towle, Christopher Towle and Amanda Towle. He was preceded in death by his son Gary Towle. He is the brother of the late Mildred (late Patrick) McGrath, the late Vivian (Late Robert DDS) Flynn and the late Edwin Towle. Uncle of Thomas Flynn DDS, Ann Scarff, Bill (Cynthia) Flynn, the late Sally, Peggy (Mike) Tatola, Susan Flynn and Jim (Kim) Flynn. Bruce was raised and spent most of his life in Plymouth. In his younger years he was a professional roller skater. He then entered the Army Air Corp and served during WWII in the European Theatre. He as a Radio Operator on a bomber and received several medals for his service. After the war he graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in electrical engineering. Bruce then went to work at Burrough's Corporation and later moved to Ford Motor, he retired in 1986. He was a Life Member of the V.F.W. and a member of Praise Baptist Church in Plymouth. He was also active with the Gideons. Bruce loved spending time with his family. He is loved by many and will be deeply missed. A Funeral Service will take place Friday, October 2, 2015, 12 noon at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, with Pastor Jeff Noble officiating. Friends may visit Friday beginning at 10am until time of service. Bruce will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. Memorials in Bruce's name may be given to Gideons.
