Bruce A. W. Knivila

Bruce Knivila passed away April 20, 2012 at the age of 70. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Peggy, his children Dana Perttula, Dan(Dawn )Knivila, Dawn(Craig)Lucier and his grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Courtney, Cobey, Carter and MacKenzie. He is the dear brother of Doug Knivila. Bruce retired from Detroit Diesel 16 years ago after 32 years. He graduated from Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan in 1963 where he was the captain of the basketball team. He graduated from Trout Creek High School in Trout Creek, Michigan. Bruce served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of The American Legion Post 32 in Livonia. His greatest joy was making his wife and kids happy. Friends may visit at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth Monday, April 23, 2012, from 2 PM until 8 PM. A Memorial Service under the direction of American Legion Post 32 of Livonia will take place at 7 pm. Funeral services will take place Tuesday 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 25630 Grand River, Redford, Michigan 48240, with visitation beginning at church at 10 AM. The Reverend Timothy P. Halboth and The Reverend Dr. Victor Halboth will be officiating. Further services and burial will take place in Trout Creek, Michigan. Memorials may be made to St. John's Hospice.
