Brian P. McMahon passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the age of 63. Brian was born on April 20, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Bernard and Patricia ( Nee Joly ) McMahon. Brian owned and operated with his family, McMahon Helicopter Service located at Mettetal Airport in Canton since 1980. Brian became involved with helicopters after his service in the United States Army in Vietnam. Under the GI Bill he was able to obtain his pilot's license and then proceeded to establish his company. Among his many pursuits in his spare time was his joy in reading, especially anything dealing with military history or Tom Clancy novels. He also enjoyed horses, he owns a Clydesdale, riding his Harley and working with his tractor. Anything dealing with aviation also sparked his life. Along with his horse, Brian enjoyed his dogs Bella and Teddy. He is survived by his wife Linda, whom he married in 1988 and children Nicholas ( Desiree ) McMahon, Nathaniel McMahon, James ( Allison ) Leitner and Kristen ( Todd ) Hiepler. Brian also leaves behind his grandchildren James, Jr., Amelia, Penelope, Lillian, Evelyn, Benjamin, Harry and two more are on their way. Brian was one of ten children and he leaves his siblings, Lee, Mike, Peggy, Nancy, Judee, Paul, Jamie. He was preceded in death by a brother Steve and sister Maureen. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 3 pm until 9 pm and from 9:30 am until the time of the memorial service at 11 am Thursday at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth.
