Brian Barry Wallman of Canton, died January 28, 2019, surrounded by his family, after a short but valiant battle with kidney cancer. He was 54 years old. Brian was the beloved husband of Clare Hickman; loving father of Samantha, Ian, and Alexandra; adored brother of Sarah (Patrick) O’Hare; cherished son of Barry and Carol Wallman; and a proud grandson of Dorothy Newberry.
Brian received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan, and regularly donned the maize and blue to cheer at the Big House throughout his life. He went on to receive a law degree from the University of Iowa, and practiced law for two years before being accepted to the FBI and graduating first in his class from Quantico in 1991. Brian proudly served as a Special Agent for the FBI for 27 years, working on drug investigations and covert operations in the Chicago and Detroit Field Offices.
When he wasn’t working, Brian was an avid traveler. He was never happier than when he was standing on top of the Schilthorn in Switzerland, or hiking (anywhere) with his kids. Often described as “the smartest person I know,” he had a great appreciation for music, cars and food of all types, and a searching curiosity about an astonishing range of subjects, particularly history, politics and science. His wit was dry, but his humor was goofy; his opinions were often blunt, but his affection was vast; he was deeply loved and admired by many, and will be greatly missed.
