Betty Ann Scofield, born June 21, 1929 in Pontiac, Michigan to parents: Charles & Mamie Benscoter passed away on February 21, 2019 at the Angela Hospice Care Center in Livonia. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Scofield III. Loving mother of Michael L. “Sco” Scofield and the late Mark W. Scofield. Proud grandmother of Mark W. Scofield II & Elizabeth Lewisand Masen A. Scofield. Great grandmother of Skyler & Andrew. Also survived by her daughter-in-law’s Cindy & Val Scofield.
Betty dedicated her life to God, family and to the Boy Scouts of America. A lifelong member of Newburg United Methodist in Livonia, Betty was involved everything from teaching Bible School to coordinating funeral services.In 1950 Betty graduated from the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing and would continue he nursing career all the way until 2000. For most of Betty’s life the Boy Scouts of America was an organization she keep close to her heart. She was the proud recipient of Silver Fawn Award which was presented from 1971 to 1974 to only 2,445 women and the 60 year Legacy Award along with countless others. Betty truly lived her life to the oath of the Scouts; On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27th from 3:00pm-8:00pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home 280 South Main St, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at the Newburg United Methodist Church 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia on Thursday, February 28th at 11:00am with visitation beginning at 10:00am until time of service. Interment Parkview Memorial.
