Bertha Mae Whitely

Passed away at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the age of 79. Bertha was born in Plymouth, Michigan on November 16, 1932 the daughter of Robert L. and Alberta G. ( Patterson ) Brown. She graduated from Plymouth High School and spent the rest of her life in Plymouth. She married Henry Whitson in 1957 and he passed away in 1969. In 1981 she married William Whitely and he preceded her in death in 2002. Bertha for a number of years worked in the cafeteria at Salem High School. She enjoyed ceramics and loved playing Bingo. She is survived by her brother William ( Carol ) Brown and brother and sister in laws, Donald and Charlotte Beaver. Her sister Stella Beaver preceded her in death. Also surviving our her nieces and nephews, Kim, Clyde ( Shannon ), Laurie ( Dave ) and Pamela ( Rob ) and great nieces and nephews Emily, Justin, Shawn, Casey, Haley and Jena. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from3pm until 9pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 am. She will be buried beside her husband William at Knollwood Cemetery in Canton. Contributions are suggested to Angela Hospice.
