Barbara Schroder, age 86 of South Lyon passed away on September 28, 2021.
She was born in Laurium, Michigan on February 1, 1935 to her parents, Ernest and Anna (née Lundy) Carlson. She is the devoted and beloved wife of 68 years to Jack Schroder; loving mother of four children – Richard Schroder, Thomas (Jamie) Schroder, Robert Schroder and Judy (Gary) Stanislawski; proud grandmother of Aaron (Melissa) Schroder, Angela Carlson, Nathan (Nadia) Stanislawski, Ryan (Melanie) Stanislawski, and Tara (Will Johnson) Stanislawski and great-grandmother of Holly, Jack, Luke, Billy, Abby, Weston and Tori. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her sister and brother, Shirley Ponte and Ernest (Janet) Carlson.
All who knew Barbara also knew how much she loved and enjoyed her family. She was a loving and devoted wife to Jack. Becoming parents was an amazing phase in life for Barbara and Jack. They taught their children about the love of God, and demonstrated by their actions what was right and what was wrong and raised them to be wonderful adults and parents who brought grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the family. She loved each one of them to the moon and back and had a special and unique relationship with all of them.
Barbara’s love of the Lord led her to bring others to God. She lived her life with a mindset that she was called to be holy and a disciple. She loved people and her goal was to pray for them, be their friend through the good times and difficult times and relying on the Holy Spirit for help and guidance. Barbara’s family called her a “soul winner”. Her mission was to bring others to God and know His love for them, and perhaps bring more disciples into the world.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 5:00 P.M. and will be officiated by Barbara’s son, The Reverend Robert Schroder.
Barbara will be laid to rest accompanied with a private graveside service.
