Barbara Louise Kennedy

Barbara Louise Kennedy passed away at her home on July 25, 2011, at the age of 71. Barbara was born in Insull, Kentucky, on March 26, 1940, the daughter of Gomer and Ruby (Dearing) Walker. The family moved to Michigan when she was five. In 1960, she married Donald, the love of her life. He passed away in 1992. The couple had lived and raised a family in Dearborn Heights, and in 1998, she moved to the Plymouth area. Barbara's joy in life was her husband, her six children and the many grand and great grandchildren she was blessed with.

She is survived by her children, Donald ( Cynthia ) Kennedy, Michael ( Lisa ) Kennedy, Linda Kowicki, Ricky Kennedy, Terry Kennedy and Carrie ( Brad ) Hawrylak. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kathleen, Michael, Kyle, Savannah and Katie; her great grandchildren, Mikey, Kayla, Austin and Riley; her mother, Ruby Walker; and her sister, Betty Wood. Her brother, James Walker, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, on Thursday from 1 pm until 9 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 am with the Reverend Wayne Kurtcz of Northridge Church officiating. Burial will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
