Arthur J. Wojtowicz, age 97 of Plymouth, passed away on December 31, 2019.
He was born on April 1, 1922 in Detroit to his parents, Leon and Stella (nee Dyraga) Wojtowicz. He is the beloved husband of the late Wanda, Elizabeth and Millie; devoted father of four children – Carol (John) Bimberg, Patricia Cox (dec), Mary Ann Foster and Arthur D. (Cathy) Wojtowicz; step-father to Christine (Robert) Griffis, Ernie (Jackie) Weidenberger, Donna (Larry) Schmid and Shirley (Lee) Jacques; proud grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 15. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his sister, Frances Topolewski.
Arthur proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Combat action included Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Victory in Europe the Bronze Star and more.
Arthur spent most of his career with United Parcel Service (UPS). He retired after 31+ years of employment.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Sunday, January 5th from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Monday, January 6th from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary service at 7:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas A’Becket Catholic Church, 555 South Lilley Road, Canton on Tuesday, January 7th beginning at 10:30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Arthur J. Wojtowicz to Bureau of Services for Blind Persons, Braille and Talking Book Library, P. O. Box 30007, Lansing, Michigan 48909-7507.
Arthur will be laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
