Ardis Mae Brattin

Ardis Mae (Heartsill) Brattin went to the loving arms of her Savior on October 23, 2016, at the age of 89. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 29, 1927, to Orpha and Virgil Heartsill. After graduating from the Harper-Grace Nursing Program, she married Charles Brattin in 1948. They enjoyed 61 years together before his death in 2009. Ardis is also preceded in death by her two sons, Michael and Mark Brattin. She is survived by a very grateful daughter, Marcy (Jim) Grimmer, three grandchildren; Leah Grimmer, Sean Brattin, Megan (Brandon) Jones, and two great-grandchildren; Haley Gilson, and Kennedy Jones. She is also survived by her “adopted” family of 40 years; Kudar (Shoba) Manjunath, Vikram (Adrienne) Manjunath, Veena (Ram) Velu, and Siddhartha and Surya Velu. A heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Cambrian Assisted Living for their outstanding care and compassion for Ardis over the past five years, especially at the end of her journey here on earth. Also, many thanks to Hospice of Lenawee for the care they helped provide the past few months.

A Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 29, at 11am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2040 S. Commerce, Walled Lake, Michigan 48390. There will be visitation beginning at 10am up until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations be made to the not-for-profit Hospice of Lenawee www.hospiceoflenawee.org
