Anton Kryka, Sr., age 72 of Salem, Michigan passed away on December 3, 2023.
He was born to his parents the late Clara (née Gallenberg) and John Kryka.
He is the beloved and devoted husband of the late Guyla Kryka, who passed away April 24, 2016. He is the loving father of six children – Anton Kryka, Jr., Richard (Marcella) Kryka, and Kyle Kryka. He is pre-deceased by his sons, Jason Kryka, John Kryka and James Kryka. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters – Tom (Jeanne) Kryka, Dick (Diane) Kryka, Pat Svaton, Kathleen (Eugene) Ickes, Jackie (Dick) Fondow, Jim Kryka, Helen (Norm) Dieter, John Kryka, Lee (Ed) Smith and his brother-in-law Dick Schroepfer. He is pre-deceased by his sister Karon Schroepfer, brother-in-law Larry Svaton and sister-in-law Dana Kryka.
He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anton graduated from Antigo High School in 1969. He dreamt of being an author since high school, many years ago. After being laid off from his job of 37 years, it was time to take that step.
He was born in Wisconsin. He earned a BS degree in mathematics from the UW-Stevens Point. He moved to Michigan after college. For most of his career, he was a computer programmer.
His early interests were science, reading science fiction, and playing the guitar. Later in life, his world revolved around his wife, his four boys and his job.
His books are youthful fantasy adventures filled with suspense and humor. They also emphasize the strength of the family and the power of education.
Everyone from grandparents to grandchildren can read and enjoy his books.,
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 P.M. to be led by the Reverend Jeff Noble.
