Annie DeBruyne, of Canton, passed away November 12, at the age of 91. Annie was born in Detroit on September 22, 1924, to John and Elizabeth (nee Beck) Flaton. She grew up in Eastpointe with her 6 brothers and sisters. She met the love of her life George when he returned home from serving his country in the Navy and they had one beloved son, Donald, who also served his country in the United States Army. Annie moved to Canton in 1998, where she was a long time member of St. Thomas A’Becket Parish. Annie enjoyed needlepoint work and baking her Christmas time cookies. She was a devoted Tigers fan and was a season ticket holder with her dear friend Jane. She also enjoyed the company of her loving Shih Tzu, Kelly. Annie is survived by her dear brother William Flaton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Annie was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, her dear son Donald, and her siblings Martin, Elizabeth, Catherine, Eva, and Helen. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 16th from 4-8pm with a Rosary service at 7pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main Street, Plymouth, 48170. Her funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 17th, at 10:30am at St. Thomas a'Becket Catholic Church, 555 S Lilley Rd, Canton, 48188. Friends may begin visiting at church at 10am. Memorial donations in Annie’s honor may be made to a charity of your choice.
