The world is a bit darker since Amy Golovoy, of Canton, Michigan, passed away on January 13, 2022. Left to mourn this loss of light and love are her husband of 54 years, Amos Golovoy, her sons David (Norma de Jesus) and Adam (Stacey Hirvela), and her grandchildren Matthew (Claire Lietaert), Jacob, Naomi, and Eva, who brought her so much delight. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, Bob (Sue) Goldnetz, Shirley Frasier, Debbie (Danny) Swank, Fred (Sandy) Goldnetz, and Shula Mishan, as well as her ten nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eldest son Rod, and her sister, Connie Miller, and rejoins them joyfully in the hereafter.
It is said of many people that to know them is to love them, and this is especially true of Amy, as is evidenced by the strong and lasting friendships she made among her neighbors and her former co-workers at the Plymouth Board of Education. In her 78 years on this earth, she emanated a spirit of love and compassion, and set an example of kindness to everyone she met. As she was a great lover of animals, both wild and domestic, we ask that those who wish to honor her memory make a donation to their local animal rescue/shelter or the wildlife conservation organization of their choice.
A celebration of life will be held soon.
